Children Set For School

IMG_4021Praise the Lord dear friends in the Lord. I am so happy and exited,do not ask why? Because  I definitely must answer you. All the children registered with Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda both those with sponsors and those who are not yet sponsored are now at school they reported on Monday 18/May/2015 after receiving a wonderful donation of Books,Pens, and pencils from the Purvis family. Their parents were so happy, danced and sung songs to the Lord in appreciation  the school materials received. I wish you were there to just see what was happening . I am sure it was a very big blessing to our children and to the Donor, the Bible puts it clear that it is actually more blessed to give than to receive. Do it also you will be blessed. if you want to know more on how you can do the same contact me on the contact or if you want to know about the available children to sponsor go to the children s page. you can e-mail me on ceapuganda@gmail.com    waiting for you

EZRA 10:4 Arise ; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage , and do it.
5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they swear .
Therefore lets arise as Ezra did and help a child in poverty to get his/her smile back. we love and pray for all of you. to know more about christian efforts against poverty Uganda visit us at http://www.ceapu.com.

Living Water

Logo01Hi friends. Praise the Lord once again, for his mercies are new every day and morning. We as Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda are seeing Gods hand at work, today. Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda sponsored a successful youth seminar at Kabuhungiro Baptist Church.

The theme was from the book of John 4:10, where Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, “If you knew who it is that asks you for water to drink, you would have asked him to give you the living water and you would never be thirsty again.” After lunch there was a powerful talk about True Love Waits (TLW). It was the first of its kind for all the 56 youths who attended and at first it looked irrelevant, but at the end when the speaker talked about the ten reasons why they should wait, 40 youths committed themselves to abstain from sex until they get married.

Thanks to the CEAPU project for sponsoring the seminar.

Blessed Is He That Considers the Poor

Uganda FlagFinally, I thank God that we have this on. It was established early 2012 but we had no web site. Wow! Thanks to Adam Purvis for the efforts, with a good heart, which he has rendered to build this website. My prayer is that the good Lord will bless him.

I want to commend the family of Mr. Dan Yleana Newton for his tireless concern about me and this project. Thus far it has reached because of his continuous followup through e-mails and phone calls. I pray that almighty God will bless him for his concern about the suffering children all over the world.

Lets remember, friends, that 100 years from now it will not matter the kind of a powerful vehicle that I drive, today. It will not matter the expensive house I built and lived in. It will not count the kind of food that I eat now. Neither will it matter the kind and color of the expensive clothes that I wore. But a smile that I create on the face of a child in need will last, never to be forgotten.

PSALM 41:1-3 “Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.”

I want to encourage all concerned and good-hearted friends to stand for the cause of giving a smile to a child in need. Together we can restore hope for a child.

GOD BLESS YOU.

Who We Are

Shepherd girl in Africa

Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda is an organization that was started by a former sponsored child of Compassion International. After finishing school and graduating the sponsorship program, Alex Munyantwari tried to help others to the end of his means. But the need was simply too great.

Alex spoke to his former sponsor, now friend, about the struggle with what was in his heart versus what his hands could do. His sponsor told a similar story. As a younger man, he realized that he, alone, could not help those who needed it. But he could advocate for them to create a network with others who, together, could change the world.

And that is exactly what we intend to do.

What We Do

All over Uganda, there are children who go to school with no shoes, no paper, no pencils. There are children who drop out of school at the age of nine because a family member is injured or falls sick. There are children who have never tasted meat, never smelled soap, and never seen a book. And there are people, like you, who want to help them.

We bring together those who need help and those who will help. We are not the answer to the problem. We are simply the voice of the voiceless, calling to the ears of those who will not allow the problem to go unanswered.

Why We Do It

Many years ago, someone took a stand on behalf of Alex Munyantwari, the founder of this organization. That person said that they would not allow Alex to fall away into simply doing the best he could do. That person decided that they would help Alex to be the best he could be. That person’s name was Budeaux and he was twelve years old. Alex continued to progress through school until the school fees became too much for his sponsor. Although Budeaux could no longer support Alex directly, he directed Alex to the Mother’s Union at Willowfield Parish Church who took on his school fees until the end of his senior schooling. When Alex was accepted into university, the Mother’s Union could no longer support him. This is when Dan Yleana Newton took over the sponsorship.

Over his life, Alex had three sponsors. Today, he still remembers each one of them gratefully.

We, as a people, will be judged by how we provide for our children; spiritually, mentally, and physically. Because we, as a people, will one day be replaced by our children.

Without us, there are children all over Uganda that will simply have to do the best they can. So the question remains: who are we if we simply stand aside and let that happen? The answer is simple: we will never let ourselves find out.
