Ceap Uganda and our school Providence Christian School plans and ensures the growth, development, rightful upbringing of orphaned and other vulnerable children, working hard to ensure that all the children reach at the highest desired levels of life with physical developments as well. Promoting their growth and development is a great assurance since it’s the clarified way of washing a way their long rusted sorrowful brains and in the process, inputting new positive ideas in them. A sense of belonging is derived from the close bond between a child and a sponsor. Ceapu led by   Pastor Alex Munyantwari a graduate from Uganda Baptist seminary in partnership with South eastern Baptist theological seminary in wake forest USA and Mama Winfred is where our roots take hold and from there, we grow, we are moulded within a unit, which prepare us for what we will experience in the world and how we react to the experiences, and that’s how close our family is like where we find refuge. From trusting that someone will pick us up when we fall.

We raise our ceapu children in such a way that we do not even give them a chance to think that where they are is final. We train them to trust God for a better future knowing that despite their circumstances, out there in the world, they are known, loved and cared for by a hope angel sent by God (A sponsor) some one will always be there for them as they experience the  storms of life And besides the above, raising a child takes the heart of admitting the truth of standing in the feet of biological parents and showing the love of God to a child in need, Not only that but raising them also requires someone who is ready to do whatever it takes to help a child feel loved just like Pastor Alex and  Mama Winfred  as it’s said. Train a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”- Proverbs 22:6 this is the reason we do what we do.

An average population age of just 16 years means that Uganda is disproportionately young. 30.1% of people live below the poverty line.

Civil war decimated one generation and AIDS decimated the next. Life expectancy has now risen to 63 years. However, poverty and limited access to health services mean that malaria, HIV/AIDS, TB and vaccine-preventable diseases are still key causes of illness and death in Uganda.

Civil conflict and the AIDS pandemic left many children growing up without parental care. Violence and corruption increase the level of the existing poverty, and the fragile economy struggles with high inflation. The effects of malaria and HIV/AIDS have a huge impact on many families in Kisoro Uganda. There has been woefully inadequate government investment in schools, medical care and social welfare, besides the government can not do every thing for the orphans and other people which explains the reason why we do what we do as a supplement to what the government does.

How is CEAPU & PCS helping children in poverty in Kisoro Uganda?

Ceapu has been helping children in poverty in Kisoro Uganda through its child sponsorship programme since the early its inception in 2012. We support almost 50 sponsored children in and around Kisoro. Outside of our child sponsorship programme, we provide education through providence Christian school and also Christian leadership training through Africa discipleship network.

Many of our children are orphans, or from AIDS-affected families, or are living in families barely able to provide a meal each day.

Education is such a key factor in helping vulnerable children, but education, especially in rural parts of Uganda, is hopelessly underfunded yet its only through quality education that we can surely break the continuous cycle of poverty.

Through child sponsorship we are:

  • Helping individual children access education, social support and welfare care.
  • We envision a future where we can enable vocational skills training, where an academic schooling is unsuitable to help children reach their full potential.
  • We hope to be able to help children with disabilities make progress and access learning and healthcare.
  • We plan on improving life opportunities for people ‘living positively’ with HIV/AIDS giving the needed counselling, testing and education, and, where appropriate, extra nutrition can be provided if we have the needed resources.

Alex Munyantwari:

 “The Least of These”

Delivered from Poverty in Jesus’ Name Pastor Alex Munyantwari was born into extreme poverty in Kisoro District, near the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, in Uganda. His childhood was marked by hardship, illness, and hopelessness, yet his trust remained in the Lord.

As the third of eleven children, Alex faced deep challenges when his father left home to seek casual work in Kampala. With no income, his older brother and sister were forced to leave school. Alex continued his studies, but without financial support, completing his education seemed impossible.

Everything changed at age eight when he enrolled in a Compassion International-assisted child development center at a local church. Through that program, Alex received healthcare, quality education, and consistent love. That intervention marked the beginning of hope and restoration for both him and his family.

As hope grew, Alex excelled academically. After graduating, he was selected for Compassion’s Leadership Development Program, which provided him the opportunity to earn a university degree. This experience shaped the trajectory of his life and instilled in him a deep commitment to transformational change for individuals, communities, and nations.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Theology from Uganda Baptist Seminary and a Bachelor of Development Studies from Uganda Christian University, along with several leadership awards. He is passionately committed to theological training for pastors, discipleship, and leadership development for all believers. He is also a strong voice on the frontlines against poverty in developing countries, advocating that the Church must play a central role in breaking cycles of poverty.

Give to God HE WILL GIVE BACK TO YOU.

Give to God, and He will give you also!

God is not a “Taker” but a “Giver.” Whatever we give to God, He will give it back to us “a good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38).   When we give faithfully to him in our tithes and offerings, He promises to open the windows of Heaven upon our lives and pour out so much blessing that we won’t even have room to contain it (Malachi 3:10). Try it, it works because God is not a man that He should lie. If God were to lie for a moment, He would cease to be God because He would have no basis for righteousness.

There is something very extraordinary about giving generously to God. He looks down with great favor on generous givers. Scripture makes it clear that when we give generously to God, He will give generously back to us because God loves generous givers.

Generous giving comes out of a grateful heart, and that is what touches the heart of God. David recognized that God had been extremely gracious to him. God had elevated him from an unnoticed shepherd to the position of a king. He was now living in a cedar palace. Out of gratitude, he felt the need to build a house for the ark of God, which was being housed in a tent at the time. This decision was born out of pure gratitude to God. God was deeply touched.

So what came out of this generous desire? Several blessings:

First: God promised to make David like the names of the greatest men on all the earth. The fulfillment is borne out by the fact that thousands of years after the death of David, people are still being named after him! We constantly talk about how David defeated Goliath.

Second: God promised to subdue all his enemies before him. What a blessing!

Third: The LORD promised to build the house of David. This was more than a physical dwelling place. This referred to the legacy and prosperity of David! The truth is, “Except the LORD builds a house, and the laborers will be building in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)  Do you want God to build your house? Then build His house first. Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and He will add all other things to you. (Matthew 6:33)  He will build not just your physical home but your relationships, marriage, career, business, and even your reputation long after you are gone from the earth.

Fourth: God promised that His love would never depart from David’s house. Do you want a generational blessing of God’s love to follow your children? Then invest in building the house of God. Does this get you interested and get your attention? Well, try it. Build God’s house and God will surprise you with incredible favor. God will watch over His word to perform it in your life!

Father, we thank you for the opportunity to advance your kingdom’s agenda. Please help us put you first in all we do. Amen.
