Gods heart for the orphans.

Many times in life there are people who are unappreciated, abused, or abandoned. The poor, the widow, and the orphan often fall into this category. They are the forgotten…the unseen. But while the rest of the world may overlook them, God doesn’t. Scripture is clear that God has a special love in His heart for children. Jesus stopped, despite His disciples’ rebuke, to spend time loving on little children. He also tells us to be like little children and to view Him as our Father.

If Jesus has a heart for all children, how great do you think His love is especially for those who are left behind without parents to love and guide them? God tells us again and again in His word that He loves orphans and has an incredibly compassionate heart for them. He is their Father and their Protector, and He invites us…His children…to participate with Him to care for them. This is the sole reason we are here.www.ceapu.com

When it comes to orphans…

God is a Loving Father

The Bible illustrates over and over that God loves orphans, that He holds them close to His heart, that He has compassion and mercy on them. Although they may not have an earthly father, He is their eternal Father and longs for them to enter into an intimate relationship with Him. They may be overlooked in this world, but God sees them and chooses them. LOOK

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families …” (Psalms 68:5-6), “For in you the fatherless find compassion.” (Hosea 14:3 NIV), “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18), “You have been the helper of the orphan.” (Psalm 10:14) and

“For in you the orphan finds mercy.” (Hosea 14:3 NLT)

 God is a Mighty Protector

Not only does God passionately love the orphan, He proudly protects them. Scripture gives us multiple warnings from God against those who mistreat or oppress the orphan. This is in such alignment with the Fatherly love He has for them. If you love someone, you will defend them at all costs. If you see someone abusing them, they better watch out because you’ll come after them and make them stop! This is exactly how the Bible describes God’s stance against anyone who is messing with His children.

“Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.” (Exodus 22:22-23)

“He executes justice for the orphan and the widow.” (Deuteronomy 10:18)

“Do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow.” (Jeremiah 22:3)

“Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against…those who oppress…the widow and the orphan.” (Malachi 3:5)

God Invites All of Us to Join Him in Caring for Orphans.

So what about those who are not oppressing the orphan? Clearly, we’re not in danger of the wrath of an angry Father, but God still calls us to do more. God has made His people, His church, and His disciples to stand as one and connect their hearts with His. He invites us to partner with Him to care for, love, and defend the orphan. Although this is something that God can do on His own, He desires to have us work with Him. Isn’t that amazing? But this isn’t something we can do from the stands. This is an intentional invitation from the Lord to get up, get involved, and give back to Him as we care for His children.

“Learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, and plead for the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17)

“When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.” (Deuteronomy 24:19)

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:27)

“Once our eyes are opened we can’t pretend we don’t know what to do. God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows that we know and holds us responsible to act.” (Proverbs 24:12)

As we discover God’s heart for the orphan, we can’t help but recognize the similarity of His heart for us – for you and me. God is also our loving Father, our Mighty Protector, and Generously Invites others to care and defend us. He pursued us when we were abandoned, alone, and lost. He took us in, giving us the “right to be children of God” (John 1:12).

Don’t you see, we are not to simply pity orphans and feel bad for them? We are called to be filled with compassion because we can relate. We were once orphans too, before our heavenly Father adopted us into His eternal family. Now He’s calling us to join in His work: to love, pray, advocate, defend, sponsor, support, and adopt.

SPONSOR A CHILD/CEAPU

african boy seeking sponsorWhen you sponsor a child through Christian Efforts against Poverty Uganda, you are helping give an orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable child a family and a future. Children who have lost everything get a mother, brothers and sisters and everything they need to have a normal childhood. There are many in this category that are waiting for you.

As a child sponsor, your monthly gift of $39 goes to helping raise your sponsored child. That means you are providing food, clothing, parental care, housing, education and healthcare to a child in need.

CEAPU project provides love, care and support to 50 orphaned abandoned and vulnerable children in Kisoro district Uganda.

We believe that no child should grow up alone.

We hope you do too.

SPONSOR A CHILD IN UGANDA

SPONSOR A CHILD IN UGANDA.

For just $39 a month, you can provide a child in poverty with school fees and uniforms they need to go to school. What’s more, you can send them to a Bible based church each week. This unique combination gives children the opportunity to escape poverty and bring change to their families and communities for a life time. Choose to sponsor a child to day.

Our project commits to find the poorest children in their communities and register them into our programme, regardless of their faith or background because we are non-denominational. We then link each child with a sponsor who begins to make a difference in the life of the child through their letters, prayers and donations.

Your sponsored child will be given the care and resources they need to develop in every area of their lives – their mind, body and relationships, your donation will be used for

  • Fees, and uniforms to go to school
  • Nutritious food
  • Health check-ups
  • Personal attention and guidance from loving staff members
  • An age-appropriate Bible and biblical teaching
  • Literacy and life skills training
  • Encouragement from your letters

We share God’s love with the children we care for, but we don’t require any child to become a follower of Jesus be a part of our programme and receive the benefits. We are committed to working with the poorest of the poor so we help children from all backgrounds regardless of their religion.

CEAPUGANDA program is life changing and you don’t just have to take our word for it! According to us each child under our project should be able to study and finish school. They should also be able to enter salaried employment.

As soon as CEAPUGANDA has registered a child in need into our programme, we start looking for a sponsor to support them. Visit us at www.ceapu/the children and choose a child for yourself. Then you can send us a mail to let us know the child you have decided to sponsor.

God has blessed us to bless others

IMG_5131Dear friends receive christian greetings from Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda in Jesus name.We thank the Lord so much for how far He has brought us and we are sure that God will continue taking care of us, our beneficiaries and more especially also our sponsors in every step that we shall make in modelling our children into the kind of people God wants then to be in future.

God has been faithful, is faithful and will forever be. We are very glad to have such a program that is helping those in need, I am aware we cannot be able to take in everyone but I am sure transforming these will help alot. Iam also happy to let you know that we are enjoying our partnership with you. As our mission is restoring hope for the needy by giving them the basic needs of life. We have for sure done the best that we can afford

Education wise, we have 23 children who are registered CEAPU beneficiaries. Of these, 12 are sponsored. This means that the remaining 11 children are still seeking sponsors. The good news is that since our focus is mainly on evangelizing with these children and taking them to school, they have all been put into school using the funds from the donors that we so far have. And they are progressing well.

The data above shows us that we have a total of 23 children

Of the 23, 12 have gotten sponsors. We thank God for that.

Of the 23, 8 are males and 15 are females.

Spiritually, every time we have the children meet, we always have them memorize a verse, sing some christian songs, teach them new songs, and tell them every thing is because of the love of God.We are teaching them and discipling them to ensure that when they grow to the confession age, they should be able to confess Christ as their Lord and savior. Also we hope that every child who reaches a time when he/she is able to read the Bible, we shall be able to make available to them with Bibles. We, so far, have three.

Physically, we teach our children health, have them do exercises, play games in groups, teach them sanitation and its importance in their homes, and above all we try as much as possible to provide medical treatment to our children.

Socially, we teach these children the importance of having friends. Those of them who have sponsors are already aware that their sponsors are their friends and some of them also have friends among themselves. This means that when they grow up, they will be able to live with others in a healthy manner.

Achievements

IMG_5159All the 23 beneficiaries have had their school fees paid since the time of their registration and we hope to continue paying for them because of the commitment our donors have in supporting our ministry.

One of the parents who had left his home and gone to Kampala for a long time because he was unable to provide for the family… when he heard that a sponsor had come on board to support his family, he came back home. We Praise the Lord for that.

Two of our beneficiaries, Faith and Devota, were sick but received treatment and now they are well and attending school.

All of the children have always received basic needs and scholastic materials as need arises. Thumbs up to our donors.

Thanks

We first of all want to thank God so much for enabling this project to come up. We also thank Yleana Newton and Dan for sponsoring Munyantwari Alex who pioneered this program.

We also want to thank our sponsors so much because if it was not for them this program would still just be an idea. Now we see its implementation.

We thank our friends and those of you who have always prayed for us.

We thank our staff for their commitment to serve both God and these children.

We also thank the Government of Uganda for accrediting CEAPU and allowing us to operate legally in the country.

Three of our beneficiaries Devota, Racheal, and Joan received Christmas gifts last year. They bought clothes and food for their families and they all were very happy.

Prayer requests

IMG_5194Pray that we all shall be encouraged in the Lord to carry on this ministry to the young children.

Pray also for the children without sponsors where as we may pay their fees, give them some basic needs. It still lowers their self-esteem to be in the program without being sponsored.

Pray that there shall be security in the country so that we carry out our operations in a secure environment.

Pray for us also for God to open a way so that we shall have offices that are permanent where people can feel secure to visit us.

Pray for one of our missionary families who are here in Uganda to work with us, that God will provide for them their needs of life and also good health.

Pray for one of our sponsors who will also be visiting the family she is supporting this year.

Pray that God blesses our sponsors with enough resources, money and good health so that they are able to keep supporting their children.

Finally pray for all these young children that they will come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

You may not have time to pray for all these but at least have time to pray for one of these, that their desired future will bring glory to God.

We love and pray for you.

Living Water

Logo01Hi friends. Praise the Lord once again, for his mercies are new every day and morning. We as Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda are seeing Gods hand at work, today. Christian Efforts Against Poverty Uganda sponsored a successful youth seminar at Kabuhungiro Baptist Church.

The theme was from the book of John 4:10, where Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, “If you knew who it is that asks you for water to drink, you would have asked him to give you the living water and you would never be thirsty again.” After lunch there was a powerful talk about True Love Waits (TLW). It was the first of its kind for all the 56 youths who attended and at first it looked irrelevant, but at the end when the speaker talked about the ten reasons why they should wait, 40 youths committed themselves to abstain from sex until they get married.

Thanks to the CEAPU project for sponsoring the seminar.
